Biography
Dre Sotiria Mastoraki, MD, PhD
Vascular surgeon Sotiria Mastoraki was born in 1979 in Athens and is a mother of two children.
In 1998, she was admitted to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Athens through national exams. She completed her studies in 2004. Subsequently, she practiced as a rural doctor at the General Hospital of Trikala and the Kalambaka Health Center from October 2004 to February 2006.
2006 to2009
She worked as a resident in the 3rd Surgical Clinic of the METAXA Oncology Hospital. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2014, she specialized in vascular surgery at the Vascular Surgery Unit of the 3rd University Surgical Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital.
Parallel to her specialization, she completed a doctoral thesis (PhD) at the University Cardiac Surgery Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital, in collaboration with the experimental surgery laboratory of the pharmaceutical company ELPEN, on the subject: “The protective role of simvastatin in the creation or extension of aneurysmal dilatation of the abdominal aorta.”
In 2013, she successfully completed a transnational postgraduate program at the University Vascular Surgery Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital, in collaboration with the University of Milan-Bicocca, obtaining a specialization in endovascular techniques.
In 2015, she worked as a University Fellow at the University Vascular Surgery Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital and, in 2016, as a scientific collaborator at the same clinic, specializing in Diabetic Foot. Additionally, she completed six months of training in performing ultrasounds for vascular patients, receiving the corresponding certification from the Ministry of Health.
In 2015, she worked as a University Fellow at the University Vascular Surgery Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital and, in 2016, as a scientific collaborator at the same clinic, specializing in Diabetic Foot. Additionally, she completed six months of training in performing ultrasounds for vascular patients, receiving the corresponding certification from the Ministry of Health.
Since 2015, she has been an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Phlebological Society, actively participating in the organization of congresses and educational programs on modern techniques for treating venous diseases. Her scientific activity includes numerous publications in international journals and regular participation as a speaker at Greek and international conferences.
Since 2015, she has collaborated with the private clinics of the HYGEIA Group (HYGEIA and MITERA). She also collaborates with IASO and LEFKOS STAVROS (White Cross) hospitals.
